The Xth year of publication is introduced by a short retrospection of the Editor upon the work accomplished by „Space and Form" up till present. He points out that besides the already accomplished great work of establishing the apposite urban architecture, modern Hungarian architects are confronted with another important task: that of providing the poorest, and particularly the country population with healthy flats. The latter question is not merely an architectural buf primarily an economic task, the solution of which can only be attained by means of a research institute created especially for this cause. Farkas Molnár comments the work of the Hungarian group of the Cirpac. Mr. Molnár considers to be the most imminent task the social flat-building in service of the poorest classes' interests and the realisation of architectural production in series. Joseph Fisher, another member of the Hungarian group of the Cirpac, rejects the repeatedly broached confrontation of the national and the socalled international architecture. Alfred Forbáth, also member of the Cirpac, renders an account of the La Sarraz congress of the Cirpac. He rejoices that according to the results of the congress this group of architects managed to avoid both the danger of dogmatic petrifaction and shiftyness severed from life's reality. Nicholas Visontai, Hungarian architect living in Rome, describes the new statute of building affairs of Rome. The January No. terminates with Mr. Virgil Bierbauer's revue on books. The Hungarian group of the Cirpac demonstrates on 22 pages of illustrations their past years works, while the last 8 pages deal with a recently built luxurious apartmenthouse by the architects Endre Farkas and George Farkas. L'anno decimo é iniziato con una breve retrospezione sull'opera sinora svolta da Spazio e Forma nell'illustrazione del redaltore, che mette in rilievo come accanto alia divulgazione dell'architetfura urbanisfica moderna la grande opera svolta sin oggi: un grandioso compito attende ancora i giovani architetti ungheresi, quello cioé di promuovere la costruzione di abitati sani per i ceti piCi poveri delle cittá, ma maggiormente dei villaggi. Quesf'ultimo quesito non é soltanto di carattere architettonico, ma principalmente di caratfere economico, e la soddisfacente soluzione del medesimo potrá venire solo da parte di un apposito istituto erigendo alio scopo di studiare questi speciali problemi. Farkas Molnár illustra il lavoro eseguito dal gruppo Cirpac Ungheria. Anche lui ritiene il compito piü incalzante da risolvere, quello di costruire delle case chiamate a servire gli interessi sociali delle classi piü povere, nonché I'effettuazione della produzione in serie nel campo dell'architettura. József Fischer pure membro del gruppo Cirpac ungherese rifiuta la contrapposizione di architettura nazionale con quelle cosidetta internazionale di nuovo presentatesi. Alfréd Forbáth, membro del gruppo Cirpac ungherese rende conto del congresso Cirpac tenufosi a la Sarraz, affermando che secondo I'insegnamento del congresso stesso quel gruppo di architetti ha felicemente evitato di sradicarsi dalia realtá della vita, come anche di inaridirsi su troppi dogmatismi ossei. In un ulteriore arficolo Miklós Visontai, architetto ungherese vivente a Roma fa conoscere il nuovo decreto per il regolamento edilizio di Roma. La serie degli articoli ha fine con un'ampia recensione bibliografica dalia penna di Virgil Bierbauer. Le illustrazioni in 22 pagine presentano le opere del gruppo Cirpac ungherese fatte nell'anno scorso, le ultime 8 pagine invece fanno conoscere una recentemente terminata casa d'affitto di lusso dei Endre e György Farkas. /.T <*"
