Two other exhibitions, Hungarian Garden and Viticulture and Viniculture, were organised simultaneously with the machinery exhibition. Three hundred exhibitors presented their products on 20 000 m2 in four exhibition halls at international standards. The majority of exhibitors came from Hungarian machine builders or the Hungarian distributors of foreign machine constructing companies. Besides these foreign exhibitors (Krone, Austrodiesel, etc.) were also present from 12 countries. AGRO+MASHEXPO, visited by approximately 20 000 visitors this year, was again the earliest exhibition in the Central and Eastern European region to introduce wide variety of machines for agricultural producers at an ideal time, prior to the start of agricultural works in spring. Most of the exhibitors brought innovative products as well. In the case of tractors, the emphasis was put on energy-saving operation, reduced waste gas emission, the feature of continuously variable transmission and a speed optimisation capable of adapting to agrotechnical requirements. Integrating all these beneficial characteristics, Valtra T202 Direct heavy universal tractor deservedly recieved the Innovation Award. Among tillage machines, combined cultivation devices loosening the soil in a protecting manner and able to incorporate mulch into the soil surface were dominant. These solutions were represented by the field cultivator product line Framest Reptili developed in Hungary, which also received an Innovation Award. Innovative sowing machines ranged from those integrating the features of sowing and seed bed preparation to those adapted to sowing into mulch. Innovation Award was given in this category to X-Mulcs modular sowing machine product line developed also in Hungary. The exhibited nutrient-spreading machines included among others centrifugal spinner fertiliser broadcasters with adjustable spreading patterns and controllable feeding as well as highperformance manure or liquid dung spreaders. A wide range of field and plantation spraying machines were displayed from the simple suspended versions with smaller working width to self-propelled high clearance structures and closed-system tunnel-type machines. Agentsaving spraying and environment protection are ensured by favourable distribution of drops, Continued on page 21. AGRO+MASHEXPO, Budapest■
