ELÖLJÁRÓBAN Először jelenik meg az Iparrégészeti és Archeometriai Tájékoztató - kísérletképpen - angol nyelvű összefoglalóval. Célunk, hogy ily módon külföldi társszervezetekhez, iparrégészeti, illetve archeometriai folyóiratok szerkesztőségéhez is eljuttathassuk kérve véleményüket: kivánják-e a rendszeres tájékoztatást a két munkabizottság tevékenységéről? Egyben azzal a kéréssel fordulunk hozzájuk, hogy informáljanak bennünket munkájukról, kiadványaikról, rendezvényeikről. Azt reméljük, hogy ezáltal bekapcsolódhatunk a nemzetközi vérkerigésbe, és a hazai kutatóknak több lehetőségük nyilik külföldi kollégáik eredményeinek megismerésére, időben értesülhetnek határainkon kivül rendezett konferenciákról. A szerkesztő A torinói lepelről készült pozitiv kép (részlet) (Cikk lapunk 6. oldalán) EDITORIAL The predecessor of this newsletter, the Industrial Archaeology News was first published by the Industrial Archaeology Working Group in 1982. This working group was created within the frame of the Historical Committee of the Veszprém Academic Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Science. In 1983, separated from the Industrial Archaeology Working Group, a new association was set up, the Archaeometry Working Group. Since 1983 the newsletter has been enlarged and published once or twice a year under the title Industrial Archaeology and Archaeometry News. This is the first time we provide the newsletter with a supplement in English, for the purpose of sending it for foregin associations working in the same field and for the editors of industrial archaeological and archaeometrical periodicals. We would like to ask them whether they are interested in the activity of the two working groups and want- to get regular information about it. We are also willing to publish news from abroad about publications, conferences etc., which can interest the Hungarian specialists. In the actual English supplement we try to give the short history, the aims and the program of the Industrial Archaeology and Archaeometry Working Groups and the abstracts of the articles and news about meetings, books etc. published in this issue.. We hope that our foregin readers can get an insight into our work and a future collaboration can contribute to a common research work. The Editor
