This volume is dedicated in honour of PÁL RÓZSA on the occasion of his 75th birthday Pál Rózsa, the well-known professor of mathematics at the Technical University of Budapest, was 75 on the 20th of January, 2000. The authors of this volume, mostly former students, colleagues, co-authors and friends, wish to express their congratulations, and to review his results and influence on matrix theory, by presenting their newest scientific results in this volume.
