UNIDO-MMSZ (Instruments and Measuring Technique Service of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences) cooperation The second International Conference (Workshop) of UNIDO was held in Budapest from the 4**1 to 8 June 1990. In this article the author makes known the proceedings of the formation of the conference, reports on the concrete results of the discussions and tells the decisions related to cooperation in the future. István Tóthmátyás - László Szeredai: Monitor for environment protection This paper introduces a monitor for environment protection developed by the MTA MMSz (Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Instrument and Measuring Technique Service) for the measurement of water, air and noise. The monitor is computer-controlled and has a modular structure. The version which is settled in a container is able to operate also in extreme environmental conditions, and its settlement is very simple. Rudolf Radnai: Measurements with logic analysers (5). Practical advices In the finishing part of our series of articles we are dealing with the protecting, failure-detecting and selftesting circuits that increase the safety of microcomputer systems. We describe the construction of these units, the principle of their operation and their role in the functioning of microcomputer systems. Attila Imre: Optoacoustical analysis of gases The optoacoustical analysis of gases is based on the thermodilatation following light absorption. This method isn’t well known in Hungary although it is effectively applicable in various fields of chemistry and molecular physics (for example analysis of residual gases or examination of multifoton absorption of molecules). The article undertakes the brief introduction of optoacoustics. Imre Eördögh — György Nagy: Measuring system families for video signal processing and picture analysing The authors of this paper are introducing a picture analysing system developed by the MTA—KFKI (Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Central Research Institute of Physics). They make known the main units, the numerical possibilities of measuring and the program sets which support picture processing by IBM-PC computer.
