El Kazovszkij kiállítás (Stúdió Galéria, Budapest, 1979)

George EZÜST was born in 1935 in Békéscsaba, southern part of the Great Plain called "Thunder Corner". He graduated in the Teachers' Training College of Eger and later in the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts. He has been participating constantly at the national exhibitions since 1959, and member of the Hungarian Artists' Federation (fine arts). His act is determined by his motherland: the infinite Great Plain, the cottage houses, strict peasant lives and the world of their horses. Not only the land of this territory is rich but its folklore, too. Munkácsy grow up, and Bartók also collected here some folksongs. The most characteristic school of hungarian fine arts: the "Great Plain School" was born here, too. Ezüst follows this tradition outlooking Europe. His paintings are rich in human content even if no human being is showed on them, but can see a deserted cottage house or church. Complexity of nature and man expressed in a picturesque way. That is why th personality and painting of Ezüst is so complex that we cannot define in one sentence, nor range among some schools. "Faithfulness in a hundred way." — quoting Ady. On his study-tours he reached not only the most famous places of the European art, but Samarkand, Japan, Cuba, Mexico and Peru. These experiences reacted upon his artistic work Beyond his numerous Hungarian exhibitions he held several exhibitions of his own abroad, among others in Italy, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Malta, Austria, Switzerland and Cuba.
