Dezső József festőművész kiállítása (Gulácsy Galéria, Budapest, 1986)
Dezső József 1935-ben született Budapesten. Az Ybl Miklós Építőipari Technikumban érettségizett 1953-ban. Ezt követően építésztechnikusként dolgozott, közben a Dési-Huber esti iskolába járt, festő pályára készült. 1954-ben felvették az Iparművészeti Főiskolára. Előbb a belsőépítész, majd a díszítőfestő-szakra járt, de 1957-ben átiratkozott a Képzőművészeti Főiskolára. Itt Bernáth Aurél osztályára került. A főiskola esti előkészítő tanfolyamán két évig Kmetty János tanársegéde volt. 1960-ban diplomázott, 1963-ban Derkovits-ösztöndíjat kapott. 1964-ben rendezte első önálló kiállítását a Fiatal Művészek Klubjában. 1966-69 között Miskolcon élt, 1969 óta a fővárosban dolgozik. 1961-től kezdve rendszeresen kiállít a Fiatal Művészek Stúdiójának kiállításain, a Műcsarnoki Országos Kiállításokon, a Hódmezővásárhelyi Őszi Tárlatokon, a Szegedi Nyári Tárlatokon, később a hatvani Biennálékon. While employed as building technician, he attended the Dési-Huber evening school in preparation fora painting career. In 1954 he was admitted to the Hungarian College of Applied Arts. Initially he majored in interior architecture and later in ornamental painting. In 1957, he moved over to the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts and attended the class conducted by Aurél Bernáth. While participating in the evening preparatory course to enroll as a full time student at the Fine Art College, he was assistant to János Kmetty. He graduated in 1960 and was awarded a Derkovits scholarship in 1963. One year later he had his first independent exhibition at the Young Artists' Club in Budapest. He lived in the city of Miskolc from 1966 to 1969, the year in which he moved back to Budapest where he has been working ever since. Since 1961 he has been regularly contributing to exhibitions in Hungary such as the shows of the Budapest Young Artists' Studio, National Exhibitions in the Budapest Art Gallery, the Autumn Art Shows of Hódmezővásárhely, the Summer Art Shows of Szeged and the Biennials of Hatvan. War sodann als Bautechniker tätig und besuchte die Huber-Dési-Abendschule, und bereitete sich auf die Malerlaufbahn vor. 1954 wurde er an die Hochschule für Kunstgewerbe aufgenommen, und lernte zuerst die Fachrichtung Innenarchitektur und dann später die Ziermalerei. 1957 ging er an die Hochschule für bildende Künste über und studierte in der Klasse des Professors Aurél Bernáth. War zwei Jahre lang Assistent von János Kmetty am Vorbereitungsabendkurs zur Hochschule. Erhielt 1960 sein Diplom, und 1963 das Derkovits-Stipendium. Erste selbständige Ausstellung 1964 im Klub der jungen Künstler. Wohnte von 1966 bis 1969 in Miskolc, und zog dann nach Budapest zurück, wo er seither tätig ist. Seit 1961 regelmässiger Aussteller an den Ausstellungen des Studios der jungen Künstler, den Landesausstellungen in der Kunsthalle, Budapest, den Herbstausstellungen in Hódmezővásárhely, Sommerausstellungen in Szeged und dann später an den Biennalen in Hatvan.
