Julinya Vidigal (1992)
Julinya Vidigal has been residing in the United States for seventeen years. Her art work has been on exhibit in California at the Louis Newman Gallery and The Window Gallery, both in Beverly Hills. She has had her work shown also in the galleries of Laguna Beach. In Miami, Florida, her works were exhibited at the Light Design Studio in Coral Gables, and represented Brazil in the Latin American Exhibit of 1989. Recently, the Corporate Art Association of Philadelphia successfully promoted her on the East Coast. In her native city of Sâo Paulo, Brazil, she has had her works exhibited in the Harmonia Club in December, 1990. Several of her paintings were then selected to be part of the collection for the Museum of Modern Art and for the Pinacoteca of Säo Paulo. At that time, other artistic creations were also chosen for the Museum of the City of Rio de Janeiro. In 1992, Julinya Vidigal has exhibits scheduled in Rome, Los Angeles, Madrid, Lisbon, Paris, and Strasbourg. In December, 1990, I had the opportunity to visit an exposition of Julinya Vidigal works at the famous Sociedade Harmonia showroom of Säo Paulo, Gifted with spatial intelligence and a very rich capacity to manifest art, the show surprised and moved me. I was astounded by her control of such varied techniques and by her deep artistic comprehension. Such sensitivity is required to comprehend, metabolize and create works so diverse with such clear results. I was touched by the simplicity of lines and shapes; simple, but at the same time bold and of an audacity only attributed to genius. Her works open new paths for improved techniques of lyric expression and diversity of production. She is not afraid to use water color, one of the most refined and yet most difficult forms of picturesque expression. She takes us from one surprise to the next. The series of water color and ink shows sumptuous presentation of exquisite porticos and windows bringing to mind the images created by Jorge Luis Borges in his short story Aleph. The gentleness, femininity and strength of her nature scenes remind me of Pancetti and Guignard; the expression of her human figures have the energy that only Fiore could create. Dotata di rara intelligenza e di una ricchissima capacité di espressioni plastiche, l'esposizione mi colpi a tal punto da commuovermi. Mi colpi la comprensione artistica e il dominio delle più varie tecniche in una artista tanto giovane. È necessario avéré molta sensibilité per comprendere, assemblare e produrre opere tanto diverse ma con risultati tanto nitidi. Mi ha commosso per la semplicità delle linie e forme; semplici e nello stesso tempo di una audacia riscontrabile soltanto in un genio. Le sue opere aprono una strada per un miglioramento della tecnica del lirismo tematico e della diversité di produzione. Julinya Vidigal non ha paura di usare gli acquerelli, una delle più raffinate e difficili forme di espressione pittorica. L'artista ci porta di sorpresa in sorpresa. La serie di acquerelli e china è una rappresentazione di ricchissimi portici e finestre ehe ricordano Timmagine ehe Jorge Luis Borges descrive nel suo racconto “Aleph”. La delicatezza femminile e la sua naturalezza ricordano Pancetti e Guignard. L'espressione delle sue figure umane ha la stessa energia delle opere di Fiore. Nel dicembre 1990, ritornata a Säo Paulo, sua città natale, espose nel club Harmonia dove alcune sue opere furono selezionate per la collezione permanente del “Museu de Arte Moderna” e per la Pinacoteca di Säo Paulo. Nella stessa epoca altre opere furono selezionate per il “Museu da Cidade de Rio de Janeiro”. Nel 1992 Julinya ha in programma esposizioni a: Roma, Los Angeles, Madrid, Lisbona, Parigi e Strasburgo.
