THE ASSOCIATION OF HUNGARIAN BOOK ARTISTS 1077 Budapest, Király utca 67. • HUNGARY The Association of Hungarian Book Artists has rallied the artists whose endeavours are saliently characterized by a devotion to the artist's book. The members are both fine artists and designers, mainly graphic artists, sculptors, textile designers and painters. The Association stages several exhibitions at home and abroad presenting our artist's books. The artist's book as a genre inspires a wide spectrum of creative ideas and techniques, ranging from hand-made paper to metal, from original drawings to photos and text, from single works to multiplications in a few copies. Our major exhibitions so far include: Livres a Mediter, Galeries Pont-Neuf, Paris • Moholy Memorial Album, Vigadó Gallery • Temps des Livres, Nantes • International Book - Festival, Budapest • The time of the book, Kisgaléria, Pécs • Livres d'Artistes Hongrois, Galerie Graphes, Paris • Artists Book Fair, Barbican Centre, London • Ecriture, Hotel Dassault, Paris • 81st Frankfurt Book Fair. The last five years have been clearly positive, both the genre and the association having won a prominent place at the nearly 30 exhibitions at home and abroad. The real, tangible and varied form of the artist's book reflects its creator's individual frame of mind. The Association has been committed to further promoting the genre and having the creators acknowledged at home and abroad. Tibor Pataki President ASSOCIATION DES ARTISTES HONGROIS DU LIVRE-OBJET 1077 Budapest, Király utca 67. • HONGRIE L'Association des Artistes hongrois du Livre-objet, membre de la Federation des Artistes Graphiques de Hongrie a été fondée le 24 septembre 1993 Depuis le 30 juin 1995, elle réunit comme association indépendante les artistes qui attribuent un rôle important au livre-objet dans leurs oeuvres. L'évaluation des cinq dernières années est, sans aucun doute, tout à fait positive. Ce genre artistique ainsi que l'association ont réusi à maintenir leur rang dans une trentaine d'expositions en Hongrie et à l'étranger, expositions qui attirent de plus en plus l'intérêt du grand public sur le livreobjet. Malgré leurs diverses formes, les livres-objet ont toujours le même contenu, à savoir la sauvegarde de la pensée humaine. Comme l'ordinateur a aussi sa bibliothèque, même si elle est virtuelle, l'histoire du. livre enlace une longue période, des plaques d'argile aux CDROM. La forme originale, variée du livre-objet qu'on prend dans la main, reflète de façon individuelle son créateur.
