Kelemen be thanked in the minutes for his work, seconded by Mr,E,von Muenster, carried. Membership report /presented by Mr. I. Jakab à un/; Membership of the Club is 331. It is encoura­ging to see that during 1988 se­ven, mainly younger people have joined the Club, on the other hand we have lost Dr.Szent-Ivány József, Gyenes Kázmér and Dr. Gosztola Béla who have passed a­­way during 1988 - mya they rest in peace. The membership direc- Mr. I. Jakab sen. especially thanked Mrs. R. Hobor for her effortsin collecting the subscrip­tions • President’s report: first of all the president thanked all those who managed the Club during his illness} his by-pass operation prevented him from carrying out his duties for almost three months. Apart from our normal activities the Ensemble performed on two oc­casions very successfully. Two young actors from Hungary also appeared in the Club in July and in September, their performances were quite unique in our Club. The Christmas Pair was quite good again. Mrs.M. Kezes, who organi­sed it for almost twenty years decided that due to health and other reasons will retire. The committee has accepted the offer of Mr.and Mrs.M. Scheer to orga­nise the Pair in the future. Y/e thank Mrs.M.Kezes and her hel­pers for the work they’ve done for the Club, and hope that this venue will continue to be the fund raising venue as it has been for nearly twenty years. The president thanked individu­ally all those who helped during the past year, including those who, although not committee mem­bers, were prepared to sacrifice some of their spare time either for the Club or some other acti­vity far the Hungarian community life. In his closing words the Presi­dent informed the A.G.M. that the committee now resigns to make way for the election of a new group of people who will ma­nage the Club in 1989. Asked Mr. E, von Muenster to chair the e­­lection. Mr. E. von Muenster thanked the President and all those who help to ensure the existence of this Club. He reminded all of the rules go­verning the election of a com­mittee including the right of sitting members seeking re-elec­tion. Auditor for 1989: Mr.I.Berekally nadnated Katalin M. Tóth the present auditor, seconded by Mr. Kelemen, all in iavour. Election of committee ; there be­­ing no other nomination,the chair­man declared Mr.I. Berekally as President for 1989.
