E-mail: gezor22@gmail.com DESIGN OF ÁRPÁDIAN ROTUNDAS -analysis of the measurement principles and spatial organization of the round churches in the Kingdom of Hungary The round church is a type of sacred building found in an exceptionally high number in Central Europe. The ancient central arrangement evokes the formal world of natural religions, but already includes functions related to Christianity. There are many architectural issues associated with this form of church. This study aims to present and analyze typical floor plan types. Within this framework, we examine rotundas in terms of their spatial organization and centrality, with focus on the different floor plan variations. Furthermore, design and layout schemes are set up for the monuments examined in detail. With the help of this method we could establish correlations between the round churches, which then lead to the creation of new groups within the entire memorial stock.
