A modern felfogású, tőmondatokban szóló gobelin megvalósításán fáradozik, egyszerű anyagokkal maga szövi munkáit. A tudós apa értéket mentő, őrző tevékenysége, könyveinek szelleme, amellyel a múltat idézi és a közönnyel perlekedik, egyenes ágon öröklődött át lánya művészetébe, aki más eszközökkel hasonló programot igyekszik megvalósítani. A részletek új összefüggései, dekoratívan átírt formáik ellenére semmit sem vesztenek valóságtartalmukból. A másik nagy kísérlet a Dunakanyar sorozat, ill. variáció. Ezeken a kisméretű szövött képeken azt csodálom, ahogyan finom színek fokozataival a fenségesen szép táj panorámáját, távlatát elénk varázsolja. A metszetek nemes műfaja formálódik ezeken, a fonalból. Hasonló feladatot vállalt a Körömi kárpittal. D. Fehér Zsuzsa Ágnes Kecskés is an artist of lyric temperament. Her ideals are the peaceful nature and the harmonic connection among people. To this-today it may be called paradisiac — picture even the animals belong. That’s why is Agnes Kecskés’s career hard: our era is not favourable for her humane confession of faith. She is working hard on creation of the modern gobelin — she herself weaves her works with simple materials. She doesn't desire the weaved forms competing with wall-paintings and panel pictures, she makes good use of her outstanding pictorial view in her chosen profession. When I take the gestures of our national culture preserving the tradition for posterity, I could even call her works as festive homespuns in which the one motif bears the other with such natural simplicity like the folkish decorative art holds together the stylized details of the sight of the nature. But I would so unduly disregard that high culture which is condensed in Agnes Kecskés’s tapestries, too, as age-old inheritance of this exquisite technique. This seemingly naiv and devout view requires refined technique, a lot of different experiments and such wisdom and !hard manual work which represent her experiences, realm of imagination, ideals and spirits with worthy means. Puzzles and secrets don’t make difficult to receive her world concept, she is an open spirit from the rare kind of the joy-making artists. The mental concent and the moral with the aesthetic pleasure together affect on the spectator: the magic comes into the word under our very eyes. She was born in Komárom and bears in her genes the sense of responsibility of people having lived in border castles at one time, her ancestorts gave her the knowledge of manufacturers and the talent to watch the depths instead of the movements of the surface even in the incidents of the history and the society. The ability of the learned father to preserve and save the worth, the spirit of his books which cites the past and litigates against the unconcern were directly inherited into the art of his daughter who wants to create a similar program with other means. She has an own world: she carries the source of energy in herself. Her diploma work demonstrates her well known great-grandmother. This is full of unquiet surfaces, glitter of silk flashing out of the base and vibrating excitement of the line. But she soon passes by the expressive picture forming. She finds the means of the simple expression for the presentation of the trees, leaves, flowers and stars with inner shinig. The material of the flax fits well to the decorative conception, she uses mostly this in addition to the wool. In her works the trees have individuality, the network of the leaves produces new botanic wonders and the underwater world has people's face. But also on her gobelin demonstrating some figures the man comes into the composition as the part of the vegetation, the birds and animals, too, incarnate similar pantheistic conception. Possibly the only exception is the big tapestry with the "Lion” which cites 'historical remembrances, where she revives the tradition of the ancient cultures and the forms of the heraldic animals. I mostly honour in her art the consequent series of experiments of the "unknown ways”. The thought of the "whole in the parts” motivates variety of her leaves appearing in arcaded enframing form. As if we were looking out on the corridor of cloisters and were even so feeling the atmosphere in the small piece of the nature placed anto the plain in the blue-grey system of the ratio, as the atmosphere of the flower-garden of the middle-age gobelines. The corals entice into the fairyland of blue bushes, underwater plants, in shower rippling shrubs and trees. No scenes follow each other, the nature is not scenery: it is the chief character itself. In spite of the new relations of the details and their decoratively prescribed forms they don't loose anything from their reality content. The other great experiment is the series respectively the variation of the „Danube-bend”. I wonder on these small weaved pictures that she conjures before us the view, the perspective of the magnificently nice land with the scale of the fine colours. The nobile artistic form of the engravings is forming on these — from yarn. Her third reformative method is the harmonizing of the unicoloured large surfaces and the friezes formed from small pictures. The symbols of the gobelin "Heaven and earth” only frame the soft coloured middle ground which enhances the tension of the two elements and clears the air as well. She takes similar task with the tapestry from "Köröm". Here the puritan carpet covering the sanctuary — with the assistance of stars, angels - creates not only the surroundings of the Madonna’s icon but has the own function as well. The repeated small compositions were weaved by the women from Köröm who were tought by Agnes Kecskés to this nice craft. The late descendant of the guildic masters, the artist honoured with prices becomes so connected with the circulation of the history. ISBN 963 7206 116 F. k.: Dr. Grófik Imre Sylvester J, Ny.
